Cuba Climate


The Cuban convertible peso (CUC) is the official currency that travellers use while visiting Cuba. CUC's can only be exchanged within the country—at an airport or at a kiosk conveniently located at most hotels and resorts. Credit cards and travelers cheques issued by American Banks and their affiliates are not accepted in Cuba (E.G: Amex, Citibank, MNBA, AAA, CAA) and pre-paid Canadian or American Credit Cards.


From May 1, 2015, the departure tax will be paid by the airline to the Cuban authorities and will be included in the price.

Things to remember

For security reasons: Satellite, GPS & Walkie-Takies are prohibited in Cuba. These devices will be confiscated by Cuban Customs upon arrival.

Official language

Cuban Spanish is Cuba's official language, which is associated with Caribbean Spanish—an offshoot of Yoruba, a West African language. Haitian Creole is the second most popular language in Cuba.
